In the evening, join us for a delightful welcome dinner hosted by Touching Mountain Treks. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow travelers and kick off your Nepal journey on a memorable note. Enjoy your overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Today, we'll start our day with a delightful breakfast before delving into a guided tour of Kathmandu's rich historical and spiritual landmarks. Our itinerary includes visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the iconic Durbar Square, the revered Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath), and the impressive Bouddhanath Buddhist shrine, renowned as one of the largest stupas globally.

At noon, we'll gather for a pre-trip discussion where we'll meet our trek leader and fellow team members. Touching Mountain Treks will provide us with a detailed briefing about our upcoming trek, giving us the opportunity to ask any questions and ensuring we're fully prepared for the adventure ahead. We'll spend the night in Kathmandu, ready to kickstart our trekking journey.

Driving Hours: (205km / 127miles) 6-7hrs

After a hearty breakfast, we board a tourist bus for a scenic journey of about 6-7 hours to Pokhara. En route, we're treated to breathtaking views of the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers winding through lush green mountains, with occasional glimpses of rocky terrain, interconnected rivers, and bubbling springs.

Pokhara, nestled amidst the towering Annapurna (8,091m), Machapuchare (6,993m), Dhaulagiri (8,169m), Manaslu (8,156m), and Lamjung Himal (6,983m), is renowned for its stunning lakes, including Phewa and Begnas.

This valley is not just a natural marvel but also a tourist haven, boasting modern amenities for a comfortable stay. We highly recommend exploring Pokhara to immerse yourself in diverse cultures and discover its myriad attractions.

After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive to Birethanti, which takes about 2 hours. Birethanti serves as the starting point for both the Poon Hill Trek and the Annapurna Base Camp trek. Our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek leads us through authentic villages, lush rice fields, meandering rivers, and rolling hills. Along the way, we pass by charming local villages such as Birethanti, Ramghai, Hile , Tikhedhunga, and Ulleri. The ascent from Birethanti to Ulleri involves a climb of 900 meters, offering a rewarding challenge. As we progress past Tikhedhunga village, the trail steadily ascends towards Ulleri. Ulleri is renowned as one of the largest Magar villages and is adorned with breathtaking scenery. We enjoy spectacular views from Ulleri and spend the night at a lovely local guest house, immersing ourselves in the beauty of the surroundings.

The day begins with a challenging ascent up stone steps for about an hour, leading to the picturesque Ulleri village. This moderate-sized village features traditional Nepalese houses with slanted roofs. Continuing from Ulleri, the path meanders through serene rhododendron and pine forests, offering a gradual climb to Ghorepani village. Perched on a ridge, Ghorepani is a charming settlement enveloped by stunning rhododendron trees. It is predominantly inhabited by the Poon people of the Magar tribe and is renowned for the iconic Poon Hill viewpoint, accessible via an hour-long climb from the village.

Embark on an early morning adventure to ascend Poon Hill, where you'll be treated to a breathtaking sunrise spectacle. Marvel at the panoramic views of the Himalayan giants, from the majestic Dhaulagiri, the world's seventh-highest peak, to the iconic Annapurna, ranked tenth highest globally. The vista also includes the towering Manaslu, ranked eighth in the world, along with the striking Machhapuchhre, known as the "Fish Tail" peak. After relishing these awe-inspiring moments, return to Ghorepani and continue your trek, navigating through both uphill and downhill trails amid the refreshing forest. Your journey culminates in Tadapani, where you'll rest for the night, surrounded by nature's tranquility.

We bid farewell to the picturesque Tadapani village and set our sights on the renowned Ghandruk village. The trail presents an easy descent towards Ghandruk via Bhaisikharka, passing through a charming village along the way. Ghandruk is a captivating destination, offering breathtaking views of various mountains and landscapes. Here, you can immerse yourself in the local culture, visit the Gurung Museum, and experience life in an authentic Gurung village. After a satisfying lunch, a short 5-minute downhill walk leads to Ghandruk Danda, where you can catch a local or private vehicle for the journey to Pokhara. The drive typically takes around 4 hours, passing through Syauli Bazaar, Birethanti, Nayapul, and finally arriving in Pokhara.

Driving Hours, 200 km /125 miles) - 6-7hrs

Early in the morning, we depart from Pokhara and make our way back to Kathmandu aboard a tourist bus. The 200 km journey treats us to stunning vistas along the Marsyangdi River and later the Trishuli River, showcasing Nepal's natural beauty and terraced farms. As we ascend one final time, we reach Kathmandu, marking the end of our adventure where it all began. We hope your trip has been fulfilling, leaving you with cherished memories to last a lifetime.
